The chromed brass base is reminiscent of a sailboat winch with a navy rope wrap. The white shade is hand-blown glass. At first glance, the light source appears to be oil because of the traditional burner and chimney incorporated into the design. The Spinnaker Lamp is, however, 110v electric, and uses a standard bulb. The lamp is also available in brass with a natural rope wrap (3135brass).
