Accurate in almost every detail to the original Columbia J yacht

The Limited Edition Columbia Yacht features the following upgrades over all other Columbia sailboats available:

-   Deck planks sized and stained to match the actual Columbia yacht

-   A scale tied-down lifeboat on the stern of the deck to mimic the actual Columbia America's Cup yacht

Untitled document Columbia was the first to win and defend the tenth the America’s Cup trophy twice in a row, in 1899 against the British challenger Shamrock and in 1901 against Shamrock II. This record held true until the Intrepid held victories in 1967 and 1970.

In 1898-9 Nathanael Herreshoff and the Herreshoff Manufacturing Company build and designed Columbia as a fin keel sloop for owners J. Pierpont Morgan and Edwin D. Morgan of the New York Yacht Club.

For Herreshoff, this boat was the third winning he has built, as well as being able to defend its winning title. Colombia was built with a nickel steel frame, Tobin bronze hull, and a steel mast (later replaced with Oregon pine).

Columbia was tried again once more in 1903 after the triple win against Shamrock II, with the hopes of being selected for a third time, but lost in the trials by the yacht Reliance and was scrapped in 1913 in City Island
